OUGD401 - Practical Investigation - Vinyl Printing & Publication Printing Process

I wanted to keep the publication simple as mass production costs in each shoebox would be quite large. Therefore, I opted for a couple of prints integrated with some double coloured stock.

This project has given me an opportunity to experiment with the vinyl printing process for the first time. I have found this a good way to integrate my graphics work onto 3D objects and start to move my practice into other creative fields such as fashion and interior design. I have encountered some difficulties however, as the welly material is not the best for sicking vinyl onto.

OUGD401 - Applying Essay Feedback

I have used my essay feedback to further clarify arguments made and to help repair some subtle mistakes within my text. The main points solved were my paragraph lengths and applying appropriate citations to my quotations. In my first draft essay, the Harvard referencing system was non existent within my text which was a massive problem in terms of submission and plagiarism. I have also proof read my essay and fix minor spelling mistakes and incorrect grammar.

OUGD401 - Practical Investigation - Mock Up Booklet Designs

Expanding from my peer feedback, I have decided to include the wellies in a shoe box as my final piece. Therefore, I am using my photoshoots to showcase my concept inside a booklet which will be included in the shoebox. Below are some mock up designs for the inside of the booklet. I wanted to give a brief explanation of what my brand identity is aiming to do with the statement ' Pushing the barriers of social convention'.

I have taken a photoshoot on the beach in Australia in order to direct the my product to a different target audience. I now intend to add text to the images to further expand the target audience of wellies.

-Look at how timberland transitioned into the fashion world, how advertisements changed etc...

-Possibly take a photograph of how wellies should be advertised and then show my holiday wear representation side by side

-the issue touches on conformity and conforming to what is acceptable. Why is it wrong to wear wellies on the beach? or in the supermarket?
