OUGD401 - Practical Investigation - Evaluation

Throughout the project I feel as though the concept for my practical investigation has developed multiple times due to peer feedback and new resource information. I have based my idea on quantitive secondary source statistics and measures based on previous facts mainly on festival population, sales of products and age group statistics. These facts then informed a thesis for my own survey to be taken out at the end of the project which was then compared with my previous gathered secondary source statistics to see if my aims of marketing a product towards a new target audience were successful. Based on the statistics, it seems as though I have been successful in my aims and ambitions however, further larger quantity surveys and questionnaires would have to be undertaken in order to get a more valid response from a larger scale of responses. The 29 people asked is not a large enough amount to get a legitimate consistent respond to base further development on. This brief also gave me a real opportunity to develop my collaboration skills with another person which, moving forward, I believe is a key skill to develop to be able to work successfully within the creative industries. I have also learned new skills and processes with a vinyl cutter printer and can now apply these new found skills in future briefs. If I were to continue developing this prototype branding and welly design, I would have to address the problem of the vinyl not sticking onto the products due to the surface of the wellies and shoe box.
